Rebecca Riley case - psychiatrist Kayoko Kifuji accused

Philip Dawdy has been writing extensively on "the bipolar child" a diagnose that FDA recognizes but strangely enough is not at DSM-IV. He has also written many articles about the Rebeca Riley case at Furious Season. She was found dead at December 2006 at the age of 4-years-old two years after she was diagnosed bipolar.
The psychiatrist, Dr. Kayoko Kifuji, has prescribed Rebecca medications including clonidine, Seroquel and Depakote that she took for two years since she was two till four years old when she died.
It's another story:
the family was condemned and the psychiatrist is being accused of misdeed. It's better to read about it at Philip's because of the arguments he always do to clarify things.
We have been exposed to many stories of children and toddlers being killed because of psych-drugs.
This is exactly what we have been witnessing: story after story and it is becoming normal. These case alone should be raised to public opinion because it is unacceptable. Everything related to this case is absurd: the diagnose, the prescriptions at such an early age, the investigation and the the way the case is being judged.
I just wish there was something to be done so that this and other cases, especially those where children and teenagers are involves, were judged correctly.

Two years old and medicated in this way??? The doctor should be jailed. There are far too many children on powerful psychotropic drugs.

Yes.
Don't even know what to say.

I left a comment on FS, which kind of sums up how I'm positioned, on this. I don't believe that the phenomenon known as "mental illness" is an illness, at all. People behave in certain ways (and in ways that one may feel uncomfortable with), but to describe that as an illness is beyond the fucking pale, for me.

Anyway, the story is tragic and stupid, in equal measure. But it will happen, again and again. And it will happen again and again, because everybody's too fucking busy blaming one another to find out what went wrong.

You know what, Ana? Prot was right: we're doomed to repeat ourselves, because we're too fucking stupid to do anything different. And we're too fucking stupid to listen to one another.

Matt,
This is the tactic: blame one another leads nowhere.
That's what they want.
You are right when you say that history is going to repeat itself.
I see it everyday when I watch the news.
Whenever money is involved human beings become barbarians.
